Tom’s Talk™ Sample Topics may include:
HOW AND WHY PEOPLE ARE VICTIMIZED
Psychologically, many people are unwilling to contemplate even the possibility that they might ever be targeted for a criminal act. As a group, women are the most frequent crime victims. Women alone may certainly be attractive targets for mugging or robbery simply because, in theory, they are less likely to 'fight back'.
Tom believes, there are three types of threats we need to fear, or three reasons things can go wrong. The first, and most frequent, is the Bad Guest®; someone we know or with whom we’ve had some sort of friendly contact. Second is the Bad Guy: a seasoned criminal for whom crime is a business….and the third is the Bad Day. Statistically least likely the Bad Day simply means we’re going about our ordinary business when a total stranger just snaps and takes out his or her frustrations on us.
In this session, learn:
- The statistical probability of the three types of ‘bad’
- Who is the most likely to be victimized?
