NURSE-SAFEÔ

In the post 9/11 world, sound personal safety practices need to be implemented in both the workplace, (workplace violence), and the home (domestic violence).

The medical community is currently  confronted by both of these issues and is trying balance how to protect patients, employees, physicians, visitors, Security, Police, and EMS from when these two collide, usually in the Emergency Departments, clinics and psychiatric units across the United States.

Many states are now requiring their hospitals to design training programs to prevent, identify, and mitigate acts of random and unprovoked violence or aggression committed by patients, their families and visitors. In healthcare, where employees are largely female, the time for a program such as NURSE-SAFE  has arrived.
